KASA

KASA is a fast-paced third person action-platformer with an emphasis on gliding and combat with an umbrella, where players take on the role of Cassandra, a young woman on a journey of vengeance and liberation. This game takes inspiration from games like NieR: AutomataLegend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and other action adventure games.

This game is developed by A Salt Studios.

My role in this game is the Environment Designer.

Developer Thoughts

"Making many modular pieces."

I joined the team midway through the production after my team dissolved during the previous semester.

Since the team was short on hands, I provided my skills in designing environmental pieces for the game.

The team was trying to evoke some sort of a mix between post apocalyptic yet traditional oriental setting, so I looked to many Chinese and Japanese architecture for inspiration. I've also contributed a lot on 2D animations. The visuals and feel of the menu when pausing the game is supposed to feel like unraveling a paper scroll and reading Chinese mythology.
